Common names: hump-nosed vipers.


Hypnale is a genus of venomous pit vipers found in India and Sri Lanka.[1] Three species are currently recognized and no subspecies.[2]

According to Gloyd and Conant (1990), members of this group seem to be closely related to the genus Calloselasma.[1]
