Hylomys is one of the genera in which the family Erinaceidae family (comprising hedgehogs) is divided. Hylomys is one of the four Erinaceidae genera which are formed by furry hedgehogs, also known as gymnures. Their closest relatives, all fossils, include Lantanotherium and Thaiagymnurus.
