Echinococcus

"Hydatid sand". Fluid aspirated from a hydatid cyst will show multiple protoscolices (size approximately 100 µm), each of which has typical hooklets. The protoscolices are normally invaginated (left), and will evaginate (middle, then right) when put in saline.
