Hybrid Graphics Ltd [1] develops graphics software technology for consumer devices. Hybrid was founded in 1994, and is based in Helsinki, Finland. As of March 2006, Hybrid Graphics is an independent wholly owned subsidiary of NVIDIA Corporation.

Until the year 2000, Hybrid was best known for its middleware solutions for computer games. Its most important product of that time was the OpenGL based 3D graphics library SurRender 3D (1996-2000). In 2000 Hybrid launched the dPVS (dynamic Potentially Visible Set) visibility optimization product that is used in many MMORPGs, including Star Wars Galaxies or EverQuest II. As a result of Hybrid's renewed focus on embedded technology, dPVS was acquired by Umbra Software [2] in 2006.

The experts in embedded graphics technology, Hybrid currently provides implementations of wireless graphics APIs such as OpenGL ES, M3G (JSR 184) and OpenVG and is a respected expert member in wireless graphics standardisation bodies, including the Java Community Process and Khronos Group. Hybrid is also internationally acknowledged for its academic research [3] on computer graphics, including multiple papers published in SIGGRAPH.
