User talk:Hyad
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips to help you get started:
If you haven't already, please add your name to the new user log to let others know a little about yourself. Read the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the Sandbox. Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines. If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk or ask me on my talk page. To sign your name on a talk page, please finish your comments with ~~~~ (four tildes). The wiki will insert a link to your userpage and the timestamp. Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
(Note: I cut and pasted this - it seems alot of people do that - either that or everyone is being brainwashed by aliens to think the same thing.) -Hyad 04:51, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Daily Radar
Sorry, this is a case where I have never heard of this company in the first place. Dyl July 5, 2005 19:52 (UTC)
- That's OK, it doesn't matter too much. In the future, hopefully enough people will join wikipedia, so atleast one of them knows more about Daily Radar than I do. :) -Hyad July 5, 2005 21:02 (UTC)
[edit] Please fix Pearle to recognize Template:Future game
Yup, a few people pointed that out. I did manage to fix it and test it on the few remaining articles in that category which hadn't already been frobbed. Thanks for your attention to detail. -- Beland 02:17, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
- Ok. At least Pearle is better than some other bots that convert American to English [1]. -Hyad 02:30, August 12, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Listing criteria for software pages
As we have so many Lists of software and Software comparisons, would it be worth setting up a single page somewhere where people can discuss a consistant policy on what to add? Or is there already such a page? Ojw 17:17, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
- Oh, I don't know if there is such a page already - you might want to talk on the Category:Software comparison page. If you are refering to my edits on the Comparison of bitmap graphics editors, then you could discuss stuff there or have it on my talk page. I was only trying to make sure the Comparison of bitmap graphics editors doesn't become a List of bitmap graphics editors. I really love the the page - cause I want to get into editing photos myself - but there seemed to be too many choses and not enough descriptions. That leaves the average person looking at the page very confused about what is a good photo editor they can use. (BTW, I commented out the old links - I did not delete them - in case you want to be able to put some of them back onto that page.) The Comparison of handheld gaming consoles is a good example of what a comparison page should be like. -Hyad 22:09, August 19, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] MGS4's expected release date
Regarding your edit to the Metal Gear Solid 4 page (and question in the history):
Since Metal Gear Solid, each game has been released three years apart. MGS in late 1998, MGS2 in late 2001, then MGS3 in late 2004. The next game's expected to follow the pattern; nothing official's been given by Konami regarding the release yet, but it is true that MGS4 is "expected to be released in late 2007." - DoubleCross 17:02, 17 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Steve Oedekerk image
Hi, can you provide the source and copyright details for the Image:Steve.gif you worked on. Thanks. Jay 12:22, 20 September 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've added the image to Wikipedia:Copyright problems. Also User:Whiskey909 is not a regular contributor. User's only contributions are two images. Jay 05:02, 21 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] There is a free software portal
Hi, I just saw your comment on that talk page of the free software article about starting a portal. I started a free software portal about 2 weeks ago, but I've got busy and haven't developed it much. Here it is: Portal:Free_software. It needs a lot of work :-) Gronky 01:50, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Java Programming/Spring framework is pretty snappy!
I just finished reading your wikibooks entry on Spring framework and thought it was pretty good! It was nice and succinct. I have been tinkering with it at work for the past two weeks and am convinced that along with Eclipse, Visual Editor, and Hibernate via Spring Framework, that building well architected applications is easier than ever before. I also linked to it from my own web page. --Gregturn 23:50, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Production of a Beloved Community
That's a fantastic find, I've got to read that tonight! -- Zanimum 20:45, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Spring framework
Thanks for the quick Spring introduction. I'm diving into Spring now after a long stint away from Java and it was nice to be able to run through a quick tutorial, get a real result, and see why it was all worthwhile. Inanutshellus 22:00, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
