Hyarmendacil II is a fictional character. He was the twenty-fourth King of Gondor in J. R. R. Tolkien's universe of Middle-earth.
He was the son of King Aldamir and reigned from T.A. 1540 till T.A. 1621.
Born as Vinyarion, his father Aldamir was slain in a war with the Haradrim in 1540 and Vinyarion wished to avenge Aldamir's death.
He accomplished this in T.A. 1551 with an astounding victory over the Haradrim and it was then when he proclaimed himself Hyarmendacil II (after his famous ancestor from the twelfth century T.A.)
He was succeeded by his son Minardil in 1621.
