Hyagrivar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hindu God responsible for education and qualification apart from knowledge of the Vedas.
In Mythology he is said to have retrieved the Vedas from Madhu and Kytdhaba, two asuras who had stolen the Vedas and hid in the oceans.
He is also considered an incarnation or avatar of Vishnu.
Interpretation:
The two bodies of Madhu and Kytdhaba disintegrated into 2 times 6 — which is twelve pieces (two heads, two torsos, four arms and four legs). These are considered to represent the twelve seismic plates of the Earth.
