Hello Hut 8.5! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. [edit] Proposed deletion

Just a quick note to say that if you agreed with a proposed deletion, you can do also signify this with the {{prod2}} template. In this case, I'm just working on getting the socks banned (User:Che Guvara is already gone, and I hope User:Darth Blinky very soon as well). Cheers --Pak21 16:03, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for that, have just notified User:DarthBinky of this account's activity Hut 8.5 16:04, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

apparently this user is a sock puppet, this would explain a lot (see the Rome Total War online clans page)--James Robinson 16:39, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

I respectfully request that you either provide VALID evidence of your allegation or withdraw it. I am NOT a sockpuppet. Please note that making unfounded allegations such as this can be considered a personal attack. Hut 8.5 16:41, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Someone removed the prod notice, so I listed it on AFD (my first time doing such, so I hope I did it right). Also, I removed your prod2 notice- that is used to support a prod, not an AFD- AFD agree/disagree should be posted to the AFD discussion page (which is linked at the top of the article). Cheers --DarthBinky 17:38, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry - should have known. Hut 8.5 17:39, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

All you have done is make unfounded allegations, remove warnings and vandalise pages, so no wonder... Hut 8.5 17:45, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unterseeboot 973

The allegations you made on my talk page are quite frankly ridiculous I ask you to cease and desist I will be fixing the mistake you have made on the u-boat matter, there was no Hoarsefield on that boat he was removed from the front line for cowardice and put on shore. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ivona onatop (talkcontribs) .

The source that I added today confirms that he was on the boat. Hut 8.5 16:59, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Impersonation

You may wish to be aware of this edit, which I suspect wasn't you. Cheers --Pak21 11:33, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for that - I didn't post it. Hut 8.5 14:34, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the additional accounts: I've added six of them to my list. The rest don't seem to being used abusively, so I've assumed good faith and left them off for now. Cheers --Pak21 15:41, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User talk:Hunter91

[edit] National Cipher Challenge

Hi Hut 8.5, just as an idea could we display the winners of the recent National Cipher Challenge and tell what happened for example with the enigma code. And perhaps we could give details of the next cipher challenge being done in the napoleonic times. Oh by the way did you take part in the challenge last year?Cavalier... 15:32, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for this. I suppose we could - when I wrote the article not much of this had happened. I did take part last year and came 14th (under the name of "Hut 8.5"). Hut 8.5 15:35, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Wow. Well done i bet you must be really pleased. I think it should be alright to list the winners, unless Wikipedia counts it as advertising.. which it shouldn't because it is a notable eventCavalier... 15:44, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. Go ahead and edit the article yourself, if you like. Hut 8.5 15:46, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the note on my userpage. Is it alright if i (should) start editing it tonight, only as i need to do a bit of revision for a test i have soonCavalier... 15:49, 7 September 2006 (UTC) Sorry put username in wrong placeCavalier... 15:49, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unterseeboot 973

I ahev deleted your unteressabot 973 as the navy have reported on the bbc that this ship actually didnt existXenia Onatopp 14:22, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

If you want to delete an article, then please follow the usual deletion procedures. Note that you only deleted a reference to it on my userpage, and not the actual article. If you do try and delete the article then you will need a reference which says that the ship did not exist. Anyway I have several such sources which say it did. [edit] The bloody EU

Do you have too put the EU tag on your userpage...--Boris Johnson VC 10:50, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Any reason why I shouldn't? Hut 8.5 11:02, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes, British supporters of the EU are nothing more than a bunch of traiters. --88.108.200.21 11:04, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

That's your opinion. Rather interesting that a similar IP has been vandalising this very template? [1]

well they where very naughty wern't they. --88.108.200.21 11:16, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Given that both you and the IP that vandalised the template both seem very anti-EU and most of the digits of the IP are the same (this is a dynamic IP), it would seem that you are one and the same person. Please note that calling me a "traiter" amounts to a personal attack. Hut 8.5 11:19, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you!

I was about to go report 206.15.138.51 for vandalizing Alcoholics Anonymous when I saw that you'd done it. You're fast! Thank you! RedRollerskate 15:28, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] British International School in Cairo

Hello! I (think I) took care of the NPOV on that page and removed the advert tag on it (after a lot of editing). Looks like just another case school kids having too much fun. Anyways, just wanted to tell you as you put the tag there originally. Cheers and happy editing. Sasquatch t|c 18:29, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to Crypto Project

Glad to have as a member of the WikiProject Cryptography. You'll probably find your time there amusing (teapot tempests have not been unknown -- at digital Rights Managment, for instance), and interesting. Quite a number of the crypto corner editors are acadmically, or professionally involved in cryptography, one way or another.

The crypto corner can always use more keyboard fingers to revert vandalism, confusion, and misapprehensions. Welcome aboard our project to conquer the world by telling everyone about crypto. ww 02:45, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Georges Painvin.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Georges Painvin.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:06, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism 13 Nov.t

Hi Hut 8.5 -- I have a message from you relating to vandalism stemming from this I.P. Address on Nov13. This is actually a very small high school and I (as a teacher here) was wondering if you could show me the specific act of vandalism. I theorize that the content will help me identify the perpetraitor and hopefully put a stop to the vandalism. Sorry about giving you more to do-- I know these pages get vandalized enough by people with actual axes to grind as a oppossed to bored teenagers. 209.159.63.198 15:19, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I'm not Hut 8.5, but the relevant edits were: diff 1, diff 2, diff 3, diff 4 and diff 5. Hope this helps --Pak21 15:35, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
At a brief glance, they look right. You can always check the edits made by your IP by looking at your contributions. One of them seems to have been made by a Drew Sibert - do you know him? Hut 8.5 16:06, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Got him --thanks alot for your help. We are great supporters of Wikipedia and appreciate all your help! 209.159.63.198 20:19, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help request

Hi...i'm new 2 wiki, just wondering if i would be allowed to make a page on how the Muslim/Jewish conpirisy has taken over the Christian holy citys?--Sword of Christ 15:46, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Replied on your talk page. Hut 8.5 16:37, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sock page request

M8 I recomend that u put a link on your page to show people how many edits your socks done!

I really can't be bothered. Hut 8.5 20:05, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sword of Christ

For what it's worth, three things convince me he's a sock:

  1. His very first edit was to your user page. I think we know there's group who have done that in the past.
  2. His (now deleted) user page claimed that he was a user in the "North of Italy", but he also edited his user talk page from the IP address 88.108.203.54, which a whois shows is a Tiscali UK address.
  3. He can't spell "delete", consistently spelling it with an extra "a": [2] [3]. This is exactly the same mistake that Major18 made: [4].

Cheers --Pak21 16:19, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

I know he's a sock as I know the guy personally and he has admitted it! Hut 8.5 16:27, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blocking?!

I don't understand why, but you put something on my user talk page, then deleted it! Why did you say I could get blocked? I am taking this very seriously. If you do this again, you will be blocked from using Wikipedia. Reply on my talk page. 86.20.53.195 22:02, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

I've done so. Please note that a single mistake is NOT grounds for blocking. Hut 8.5 18:24, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
