Hussein Mohamed Farrah

Hussein Mohamed Farrah (Somali: Xuseen Maxamad Faarax; born August 16, 1962 in Beledweyne, Somalia) is the son of Mohamed Farrah Aidid.

Farrah went to the United States when he was 14 years old and attended Covina High School, Covina, California, graduating in 1981. In April 1987, he volunteered to join the United States Marine Corps at one time was stationed at the Marine Corps reserve base in Pico Rivera, California, and even served in Somalia during the Genocide. He later became a naturalized citizen, and remained in the United States until age 30.

He was selected by the Habr Gidr clan to succeed his father when he died.[1] He resigned his position in Cairo, Egypt following a peace process between Salbalar administraton and Soodare Group. Farrah is seen by the West as a chance of improvement for the relationships between them and Somalia.
