Huskies Stadium
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Huskies Stadium is a Canadian football stadium in Halifax, Nova Scotia that is host to Saint Mary's Huskies. It has a capacity of 9,000 [1] (can be increased to 11,000). It was built in 1970. It is a possible stadium site if Halifax were to ever get a Canadian Football League team, but because of its prohibitively small capacity, it is likely a new stadium would have to be built for the CFL. It has hosted many Canadian Interuniversity Sport national semi-final football games.
On June 11, 2005, the stadium hosted an exhibition game between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Toronto Argonauts to gauge Halifax's public support for a CFL franchise. The game was called "Touchdown Atlantic". For the game, the stadium's capacity was temporarily augmented to 11,000.
