Husbands and Wives is a 1992 American film directed and written by Woody Allen. The films stars Allen, Mia Farrow, Sydney Pollack, Judy Davis, and Juliette Lewis. It was nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Judy Davis) and Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen (Woody Allen).

The film is about two couples: Jack (Pollack) and Sally (Davis), and Gabe (Allen) and Judy (Farrow). Gabe is an English professor at a college, Judy works at a magazine, Jack is a businessman, and Sally is a co-worker. The film starts when Jack and Sally come over to Gabe and Judy's apartment before going out diner.

They are greeted by Gabe and Sally and they get relaxed with glasses of wine. It is then that Sally and Jack announce they are splitting up. Gabe and Judy take it hardly, but Judy is mostly the one hurt. Confused, the four go out to diner. Later, Judy asks Gabe if he ever fantisizes about other woman. Gabe brushes her questions off, and they go to bed. The next day, Gabe approaches Rain, a student of his that he admires for her brilliant writing. Rain and Gabe go out for a walk while discussing her writing. That night, Sally goes to the apartment of a collegue.

They plan to go out together to the opera and then to diner. Sally asks if she can use his phone, and calls Jack. She proceeds to torment him over the phone, using terrible language. Frightened, her collegue makes her leave. After that, Gabe, Judy and Sally are out walking when they bump into Jack with another woman. Sally quickly says she has an appointment and leaves in a hurry. On the way, she drops her purse and all the contents spill out. She picks the things up hastily and leaves. Judy and Gabe are introduced to Jack's new girlfriend,Sam, an aerobics trainer. She comes off as a ditzy weirdo The four go into a liquor store.

While Judy and Jack's girlfriend shop, Gabe tells Jack that his girlfriend is a big mistake. He asks him why he left Sally for someone like that. About a week later, Judy introduces Sally to Micheal, a collegue at the magazine Judy works at. Micheal asks Judy out, and they become lovers very quickly. Later, at a party, Jack and Sam get into a ferocious arrgument. Sam throws a fit outside the house that the party is at, and Jack forces Sam into the car. Sam gets back out of the car, and Jack drives away. He goes to Sally's house, where he finds Micheal shirtless. Jack throws a fit, and Sally makes him leave. (Incomplete...)
