Template talk:Hurricane season category
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Purpose
There are a very large number of tropical cyclone season categories, and each should have identical content. This template provides that content. This is to be used inside category pages such as Category:2005 Atlantic hurricane season. It also applies to categories for seasons in all other basins.
[edit] Usage
{{Hurricane season category|<basin>|<year>}} {{Hurricane season category2|<basin>|<year1>|<year2>}}
- <year> is the year of the season, e.g., "2005". With the second template, two years may be provided.
- <basin> is the basin of the season. See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Tropical_Cyclones#Basins.
For multi-year seasons (e.g., for the southern hemisphere which uses "2004-05") both years should be provided; upper-level categorization (like Category:2005 meteorology) will be applied based on the years given. For collective season articles (like 1880-1889 Atlantic hurricane seasons) the year(s) may instead be a decade or century.
