Hurn

Hurn is a village in south east Dorset, England, situated between the River Stour and River Avon in Christchurch borough, five miles north east of Bournemouth city centre. The village has a population of 468 (2001). The village is the location of Bournemouth International Airport.
The surname Hurn is derived from the old English "hyrne" which means a corner or disused part of a field, sometimes the land sectioned by an oxbow lake. There is a large concentration of Hurns in East Anglia in the U.K.
