[edit] Bud Bagsak Massacre

Doesn't read like a properly formatted article. self reference. POV? RJFJR 15:02, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pygmalion effect

it's a fairly widely known psychological effect, and the article should be less confusing, and with sources.

[edit] Ottoman_Empire

The Ottoman_Empire article is too long and disorganized. The length of the text confuses the reader and it is quite a burden on slower connections. Clean-up of useless or conflicting information is needed, and restructuring of chapters, re-paragraphing, the article needs attentions as it dropped from a "Good Article" nomination to "Clean-up needed". The users are very enthusiastic about the article and they have obviously contributed quite a lot, but often layout and guidelines are ignored. Sufitul 12:28, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

I would also like to note that much of the article is difficult to read because of grammar issues. Some contributors are obviously not native english speakers. This would not be a huge concern were it not for the dificulty it lends to understanding. Note particularly the paragraph on "Slavery". I have to call that one paragraph into question anyway, as it seems very like an apologist argument. worlebird 207.170.246.243 16:51, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

OK I'm taking this article under my wing. David P. A. Hunter 10:46, 2 May 2006 (UTC).

Good luck to you! I've tried to do lots of cleanup there, and feel stymied with every attempt. On the surface, it (sort of) looks decent, but when you actually start reading it—and, worse, trying to fix it—you'll realize that it's really an absolute mess. I think I'm going to wipe my hands of the whole thing and let others have their way with it ... and so again, best of luck to you! —Saposcat 14:27, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mayerling

Frankly, this article is in a terrible state. Partially due to the nature of the subject, I can find little reputable or verifiable information about this event. The Wikipedia articles for the Baroness and Rudolf give conflicting information and the external links are also contradictory. I've tried to fix some of the more glaring inaccuracies and take out some of the frankly sensationalistic tone. It mostly needs fact checking and hopefully some published sources to back soem of this stuff up. I know it's a lot to ask, but given that there is so much information out there, Wikipedia can at least be authoritatively ambigous. =) Kerowyn 09:33, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I can pop in to help, but not with any regularity. Added to User:Jtmichcock/Desk Kerowyn 09:33, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I've been considering splitting the article into two seperate ones; the Mayerling article should detail Mayerling only (with a small paragraph on the incident and a link to the second article), a new article should detail the Mayerling Incident. What say you? Your one true god is David P. A. Hunter, esq. III Talk to me! 09:07, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
So, I've given it another once over. I think what's needed here are actual citations. The original article keeps refering to "reports" without many specifics. It seems like there are at least three; the intial report of suicide, a second report that casts doubt on the first, and the report included with the papal nuncio. Piece o' cake, right? --Kerowyn Leave a note 06:43, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Larry Page

Someone tagged this article but didn't actually process it into the list, nor did they assign it. I'm going to look it over and clean it up myself if need be; otherwise I shall remove the tag. Your one true god is David P. A. Hunter, esq. III Talk to me! 04:58, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Richard III (1955 film)

Article that I have worked a lot on, but needs some touching up, and fixing in areas. Also I think that the reference system is out of date. .... 08:48, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

It has had 2 peerreviews and is on its second nomination for Featured article. Should review opinions and see if we can help it get to Teatured Article status. RJFJR 14:18, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Aegean civilization

Apparently this article has been recently cleaned up. Nevertheless I find it unbearable to have a sentence stating that after the Dorians crushed the Aegeans their surviving "racial elements" helped their culture to "blossom again" three centuries later. I could improve that phrase myself but I feel that I don't know enough about it. Also, reading such overcome racial value theories, the value of the whole article seems questionable to me and should be reviewed. [edit] Elric's Notes / Current Status

  • Article is an absolute mess: it may look OK superficially, but the content is pretty awful. Who references the 1911 Britanica in this day and age?
  • Shall dig out my books and notes on the Aegean this weekend (I did some research into this area only a few years ago), to begin working out a plan on improving this.
  • UPDATE: books found, notes sorted, going through one section at a time. Little free time until late-March, so not likely to make any significant changes before then.

[edit] Old entry by Dmcdevit

Both the articles General nature of the evidence of Aegean civilization and General features of Aegean civilization, awkward 1911 EB copies, need to be merged here and redirected. This, also from EB, needs a thourough copyedit and wikification. Plus more references. --Dmcdevit 04:56, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
