From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hunza people, or Burusho, are indigenous to the Hunza Valley. The valley is located in Pakistan's Northern Areas. The most widely spoken language among the Hunza is Burushaski, a language isolate.

The Hunza people claim to have a high life expectancy of 90 years. Some claim to live up to 120 years or more[citation needed], maintaining good health throughout their lives. The Hunza tribe has almost no occurrence of cancer or hereditary illness, and has experienced no known cases of obesity.

The Hunza diet consists of unprocessed foods including many organic fruits, vegetables, and grains. It is against Hunza law to use pesticides.

Hunzas of all ages, including the elders, work seven days a week.
