Hunts Point Avenue is an express station on the IRT Pelham Line of the New York City Subway. It is served by the 6 train and is located at Hunts Point Avenue and Southern Boulevard in the Bronx. It has two island platforms and three tracks.
There are only small mosaics on the trackside walls and "uptown" and "downtown" directional mosaics in the mezzanine. Although the platform level is lit by fluorescent bulbs, the mezzanine remains lit by incandescent ones. A brick station house is at street level. Northbound, this is the last underground station before the elevated stretch to Pelham Bay Park station.
There is another station with a similar name—Hunters Point Avenue on the IRT Flushing Line in Long Island City, Queens—but the two are in different boroughs and are unrelated.
