Hundred-Year Darkness

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hundred-Year Darkness, also known as the Second Great Schism, is a fictional conflict from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. This mysterious conflict has never been shown, only referred to. It occurred about 7,000 years before the movies (or 7,000 BBY). It was during the Hundred-Year Darkness that the founders of the Sith Empire, Jedi such as Ajunta Pall, would fall to the dark side of the Force, and, after decades of bloodshed, at last be exiled by the Galactic Republic to the galaxy's Unknown Regions.

[edit] Corbos

Having fought for nearly a century, the Jedi and their rival Dark Jedi made a final stand at Corbos, a mining world. During the battle, the Dark Jedi were apparently destroyed along with all life on Corbos during an orbital bombardment wave by the Jedi.

The surviving Dark Jedi fled into uncharted space, where they discovered Ziost and Korriban, home to the primitive but unusually Force-sensitive Sith people. Using their training in the Force, the fallen Jedi amazed the Sith and elevated themselves to god-like status on Korriban and Ziost, becoming the rulers of the Sith people. As years passed, and interbreeding occurred between the Fallen Jedi and the Sith, the term "Sith" came to mean not only the original inhabitants of Ziost and Korriban, but also their fallen Jedi masters.
