"Hump de Bump" is a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the fifth track on their 2006 album Stadium Arcadium. Despite the change in musical style of the rest of the album, its sound is similar to that of the band's earlier albums such as Freaky Styley. The track was originally titled "Ghost Dance" [citation needed] as the bassline resembled that of an earlier track named American Ghost Dance off Freaky Styley.
The band has commented on the single release, saying "Another exciting thing that is on the horizon for us is that we are going to make a video for the song Hump de Bump, and it is going to be directed by someone we truly admire and respect: the comic genius Chris Rock."[1] The song is going to be the fourth of seven songs released as a single from Stadium Arcadium in America, most likely within the first few months of early 2007, yet internationally Desecration Smile will be the next single.
As of December 2006, pictures from the video shoot have been released by the band's official website. They depict Anthony Kiedis and Flea on a city street, dancing among various groups of people.
