Many courses within this department have been involved directly or indirectly with the television series Distinguished Artists.

[edit] Comedy: Writing and Performance

The Humber School of Comedy was founded in 1999, and is the first and only post-secondary degree program in comedy, in the English-speaking world. The faculty includes Emmy Award-winners SCTV funny-people, and the founder of Yuk Yuk's.

Merv Griffin Productions and Creative Artists Management started pre-production on a reality show based on the course; the series was squashed by Humber's faculty union, who claimed the show might negatively affect the level of education at the school. The series editing procedure would have been unprecedented.
