Human Defense Corps

In the DC Comics universe, the Human Defense Corps is a branch of the military introduced by President Lex Luthor to reduce government dependency on superhumans when a major crisis breaks out. Past Corps missions have involved vampires, a mole-like race of underground people called the Acorti, and even taking command of a Hell-like dimension.
The Human Defense Corps appeared in their own six-issue miniseries, written by Ty Templeton and published in the second half of 2003.
