Hui Voine!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Hui Voine!" (Russian: Хуй войне!; Pronounced Khui Voyne!) is a phrase developed by former t.A.T.u. producer Ivan Shapovalov during the girls promotional tour in the USA in early 2003. The slogan was first debuted on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and NBC did not censor the shirts, however they did censor the two girls kissing. The slogan, which was orgionally going to be "Нет войне!" means "No War", however the slang translations may vary to "Penis in War." or a creative way of saying "Fuck War" in a litteral sense. The girls wore plain t-shirts with the slogan on it, and when their shirts were replaced with ones that said "Censorsed" on Jimmy Kimmel Live, they wrote it on Jimmy Kimmel's hand. The girls also wore the shirts to TRL.

Fans in Russia even wore their own versions of the shirts at performances, however when shown on Russian TV, the shirts were edited to say "Жуй войне!" (Chew War).
