Hugh MacDonald is a film director who received an Academy Award for Animated Short Film for The Frog, The Dog and The Devil, made with the New Zealand National Film Unit and Martin Townsend. The New Zealand pavilion at Expo 70 in Osaka reflected the heritage of the host country.... Memorable elements included John Drawbridge’s mural, Sue Skerman’s silkscreened perspex bushwalk and Hugh Macdonald’s split screen film This is New Zealand.
