Hugh John Casey

Hugh John ('Pat') Casey (June 7, 1898 — August 30, 1981) was a Major General in the United States Army and General MacArthur's chief engineer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and died in Naples, Florida.
He was Chairman of the New York City Transit Authority from 1953-55.

Casey's son, US Army Major Hugh Boyd Casey, was a veteran of World War II and was killed in an air crash during the Korean War.

- 1933 - 1935 -- attends Technische Hochschule, Berlin, Germany
- 1935 - 1936 -- Commands Engineering Division, Passamquoddy Tidal Power Project
- 1936 - 1937 -- Executive Officer to District Engineer, Ohio River
- 1937 - 1940 -- Assistant to General MacArthur - Office of the Military Advisor to the Commonwealth Government, Manila, the Philippines
- February 1, 1940 -- promoted to Major
- 1940 - 1941 -- Chief of Design & Engineering, Office of the Quartermaster General
- 1941 - 1942 -- Chief Engineer - US Army Forces Far East
- June 4, 1942 -- promoted to Lieutenant Colonel
