Hugh Boyd Secondary School is a school located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, that serves students from grades 8 to 12, and is part of the Richmond School District (SD 38). The school was opened in 1960, originally as a junior secondary school, and became a full range secondary school in 1996. It was named after Richmond's first reeve/head councilman (or mayor, in modern terms) and is best known for its extensive football program, which is unique in Richmond. The school is located at the corner of No. 1 Road and Francis Road in Richmond, adjacent to the West Richmond Community Centre. The current principal is Mrs. J. McFadyen.
Hugh Boyd Secondary first opened in the 1960s and its new wing (containing the new office, science department, fine arts classrooms, library, gymnasium and lounge) was opened around 1995.
Its student population ranges each year, from approximately 700 to 900 students, most of whom are from the surrounding Seafair neighbourhood of western Richmond; this number, however, has been slowly declining due to the cross-boundary law instituted by the school district.
The school colours are black and gold, and the school sports teams are named the Hugh Boyd Trojans.
Boyd is also home to the Combined Studies Program, which is shared with Matthew McNair Secondary, an Incentive Program, and a Leadership academy.
