Hubertus Brandenburg

Hubertus Brandenburg (b. November 17, 1923), was, between 1977 and 1988, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Stockholm.

Brandenburg was born in Osnabrück, Germany. He became a priest in Osnabrück on December 20, 1952. On December 12, 1974, he was appointed by Pope Paul VI as Bishop of Osnabrück. On November 21, 1977, he was appointed as Bishop of Stockholm. He resigned in 1988, and was succeeded by Bishop Anders Arborelius.

He was a member of K.D.St.V. Sauerlandia Münster, a Catholic student fraternity that belongs to the Cartellverband der katholischen deutschen Studentenverbindungen.
