Hubert Ogunde

Chief Hubert Adedeji Ogunde (born May 31, 1916 in Ososa, near Ijebu-Ode - died April 4, 1990 in London, England) was a Nigerian playwright, actor, theatre manager, and musician who founded the Ogunde Concert Party in (1945), the first professional theatrical company in Nigeria.

Ogunde starred in 1990's Mister Johnson, a movie which was shot on location in Jos. The movie also featured Pierce Brosnan.

In April 1990, he died at London's Cromwell Hospital after a brief illness.
