Huang Quan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Huang Quan lived during the time of the Three Kingdoms period of China. He first served the warlord Liu Zhang and warned him of Liu Bei (ruler of the Kingdom of Shu's) designs on the Yi Province of China. He pleaded strenuously for Liu Zhang to heed his warnings.

When Liu Bei took over Huang Quan was employed by Liu; Liu even sought him at his household. Huang Quan took part in the campaign against the Kingdom of Wu and as the camps were burning he surrendered to the Kingdom of Wei. His family was spared but his reputation was smeared, for many commanders fought to the end.
