  • This is a very notable student film. It also, clearly, meets the requirements for web content. This video has spread like wildfire, absent of the original creators control. Also, since I didn't help create the movie, it's not like this is promotion. In addition, this page hasn't even been live for 12 hours. Let it grow a little.TIinPATIinPA

[edit] Character Analysis

Who came up with this character analysis and is there any reason why this pretension should be taken seriously?

The character descriptions were written by me, as a fan. They were later built upon by the original writer of How to be: Emo. You can look at the discussion from the AfD to see why this 'pretension' should be taken seriously. TIinPA
As a fan, you're not exactly qualified to make broad character analysis. If the original writer does it, it's original research, a no-no per WP:OR. Also, if the original writer is thumbing around and editing this page, you need to take a look at our rules about conflict of interest. The AfD discussion doesn't help you out here. The article is borderline qualified for an article, and will be nominated again if any of the speculation about wide theatre releases turns out to be mush. Just because it's allowed to exist now doesn't mean that you're allowed to fill it with your own opinions, unless you happen to be the entertainment editor for CNN or The Chicago Tribune, which you most certainly are not. [edit] NPOV (or was it inaccuracy?)

There are alot of non-neutral (moreso inaccurate) claims in this article: the language here does well to completely abuse the common misconception that Emo (slang) has anything to do with Emo (music) and the culture that such music was tied to, besides being a fashionable copycat. It's terrible. I'll just repeat some of it here:

  • "Also this film more makes fun of the emo subculture"
  • "This type of irony was expected to be received well by those in the emo culture."

and so forth. I want somebody more familiar with the film to do a rewrite of this intro paragraph, but if nobody is up to it within the next couple of days or so, I'll be happy to take care of it myself. 149.43.x.x 02:42, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I have made some revisions, on top of revisions by [User:TIinPA] (I think). They can be discussed here. I believe my edits clean the article up, while removing speculative and nonNPOV stuff. 149.43.x.x 04:54, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
