Audio engineer Mike Plotnikoff often works with Benson. In the words of Cold drummer Sam McCandless: "The band had been playing with Manson and Staind, so I wanted the drums to sound huge," he explains, "like dump trucks falling from the sky. Howard and Mike got that right away, and since it usually takes a week or two to get the drum tracks down, I was blown away."
