Hotline Connect
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hotline Connect (casually referred to as Hotline) is a file sharing protocol released in 1997 by Adam Hinkley (also known as "Hinks"). The protocol utilizes a server-client model of networking, combining chat, news, and file sharing capabilities into one service. In its peak of usage, Hotline was notorious for the exchange of warez and porn. The Hotline network, as a whole, eventually died out and is now flooded with servers pushing banner ads or get-rich-quick schemes, except for a few tightly-knit private communities.
