Hotel Indigo

The newest member of the InterContinental Hotels Group family, Hotel Indigo, is promoted as being "the industry’s first branded boutique hotel experience". It is designed to appeal to style savvy, lifestyle focused guests who desire luxury, service and an alternative to traditional hotels while providing businesses amenities they have come to expect. The concept includes a retail-inspired design concept with changes throughout the year to keep to hotel fresh, similar to the way retailers change their window displays. Guestrooms feature murals, area rugs, fluffy duvets and slipcovers that will change periodically, while public spaces will be transformed seasonally through changing aromas, music, artwork, murals and directional signage.

Three properties have opened since Hotel Indigo's launch. The first Hotel Indigo opened in Atlanta, Georgia in October 2004, the second location opened in Chicago, Illinois historic Gold Coast neighborhood in May 2005 and a third location opened in Chicago-Palatine, Illinois. in November 2005. By the end of 2006 six more will open including the brand’s first international property debuting in Ottawa, Canada. Other hotels to open in 2006 include:
