Hot Property

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hot Property is a reality television series broadcast on Five. The last two series were completely different to the first, having changed hosts and genre quite significantly. The first series was a lifestyle show revolving around real estate hosted by Tris Payne.

For series two and three it was turned into the game show hosted by Alice Beer, who invites a couple of new home buyers to watch videos of three houses whilst an expert gives hints as to what to look out for. The contestants pick the house they like the best, and then have the time it takes for the Hot Property car to go from the central location to get to that house to decide on what they think the price is by starting on a range and narrowing it down as they think about the mod cons in the house. If the final price they've written down is within £1,000 either side (in series three: £500 either side) of the actual price then the keys are handed over to them - the house is theirs.

[edit] Australian version

An Australian version of the show hosted by Michael Caton aired on the Seven Network from 1999 to 2004. It used the lifestyle program format of the show.
