Hot is the first solo album from former Spice Girl, Melanie Brown.
[edit] Album information
Hot was released on October 9, 2000, just one month before the release of the Spice Girls third album Forever, this is cited as the main reason it didn't sell well: people were interested in the Spice Girls comeback album, rather than Mel B's first solo LP. In spite of being released only two weeks after the Top 5 hit "Tell Me", Hot entered at a disappointing #28 in the UK albums chart and quickly dropped out of the Top 200.
Four months later, Mel B released another Top 5 hit "Feels So Good". This single helped the album re-enter the Top 100 albums chart. The last single, "Lullaby" (#13), was released in June 2001, but was unable to make a great impact on album sales, therefore Hot re-entered the Top 200 for only one week. Altogether the album went on to sell 60,000 copies (confirmed by MusicWeek) in The UK.
