Hosororo

Hosororo is a community in the Barima-Waini region of northern Guyana, on the west bank of the Aruka River, 10 km (7 miles) from its mouth, located at 8°10′0″N, 59°47′60″W. It is three miles from Mabaruma.

It is known for its production of organic cocoa and is home to a nursery and propagation centre. [1].

Originally an Arawak village known for its fertile soils, it is the earliest site of cassava cultivation by Amerindians in Guyana, dating back some 3,850 years.
