An adaptation of Dr. Seuss's 1954 children's book, "Horton Hears a Who" is about an imaginative elephant (Jim Carrey) who hears a cry for help coming from a tiny speck of dust floating through the air. Suspecting there may be life on that speck and despite a surrounding community that thinks he has lost his mind, Horton is determined to help. Carell voices the mayor of Who-ville, a distinguished figure of a very small size, too small to be seen by the elephant's eyes.

[edit] Trivia

  • This will be the second time Jim Carrey has played a Seuss Character. He played The Grinch in the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas!.
  • This is the second film in which Carrey and Carell co-star, after 2003's Bruce Almighty.
  • Although Jim Carrey is very well known to do many voices, this will be the first time he has ever voiced a character in a fully animated movie.
  • It has been rumored that this may be an animated adaptation of Seussical. It has been neither been confirmed or denied, but it’s most likely to happen, due to the shows popularity.
