The Horowhenua-Kapiti team play from Levin Domain, Levin and in the 2006 season are in Pool B of the Heartland Championship. They are seeded 6th qualifiers for the Championship as they were runner-ups in the 3rd division in 2005.

The Horowhenua Rugby Football Union was formed in 1893. In 1997, name was changed to Horowhenua-Kapiti.

There have only been 2 players selected for the All Blacks whilst playing their club rugby in Horowhenua-Kapiti. Carlos Spencer played for Horowhenua-Kapiti between 1992-1993 before moving to Auckland.
