Hori Tatsuo

Hori Tatsuo (堀辰雄, December 28, 1904 - May 28, 1953) was a Japanese author who was born in Tokyo, Japan.

He was diagnosed with tuberculosis before writing The Wind Has Risen. He took ideas from the sanatorium he stayed in, located in Nagano Prefecture, as the basis of the book.
