Horace Howard Furness (1833 - 1912) was a significant U.S. Shakespearean scholar. His "New Variorum" editions of Shakespeare's plays combined for the first time various commentaries on Shakespeare's plays into one volume.

Horace Howard Furness High School in South Philadelphia is named after him.
