Hopeful Stakes (Australia)

The Hopeful Stakes is a horse race for 2 year old thoroughbred colts and geldings. It is held at Eagle Farm racecourse near Brisbane each year in early March. The race is run over 1000m (five furlongs). It was won by the great Queensland horse Gunsynd in 1969.
