Honolulu Magazine

Honolulu Magazine is a city magazine covering Honolulu. Its parent company, PacificBasin Communications, also publishes Hawaii Business Magazine.

Honolulu Magazine began publishing in 1888 as Paradise of the Pacific, a magazine commissioned by King Kalakaua to represent Hawaii to the outside world. In 1966, Paradise of the Pacific assumed its current title. Honolulu shifted its focus to news and features aimed at an affluent residential audience. Honolulu is also known for its annual statewide fiction contest.
