Her third album, Honky Tonk Angel, was the one that made Patty Loveless a country music star. With no fewer than five tracks from the album charting in the Billboard Top Ten Country Singles, including three at #1, it served notice that she was a superstar in the making. The album itself was Loveless' highest charting at #7 on the Country Albums category. The three #1 singles were "Chains" and "Timber, I'm Falling in Love," and "The Lonely Side of Love." Loveless also shines on a cover of the Lone Justice tune, "Don't Toss Us Away," which is better than the original. Famed songwriter Kostas had a major role by writing three of the album's tunes, including the #1 "Timber, I'm Falling in Love" and the #6 "The Lonely Side of Love."
