Hongshi

Hongshi (Chinese: 弘時 1704—c. 1727) was the third son of the Yongzheng Emperor of Qing Dynasty China; a Manchu of the Aisin-Gioro clan. His mother was Yongzheng's concubine, Qi Fei (齊妃) of the Li (李氏) clan. Partly instigated by his uncle, the eighth prince Yinsi, he plotted against his brother Hongli, later the Qianlong Emperor, and was rid of all his titles and was forced to hang himself before Hongli ascended the throne in 1735. This was due to the Yongzheng Emperor's own prolonged struggle against his many brothers for the throne, and their constant sabotaging of his policies thereafter. He was forever expelled from the Aisin-Gioro clan.
