The Honda GL500 Silver Wing is a midsized motorcycle designed and manufactured by Honda. Introduced in 1981 as a smaller, lower powered companion to the Honda GL1000 Goldwing. At 500lbs and 40 hp, it had relatively poor performance and was not a popular model. In 1983 the Honda GL650 was introduced to, increasing it to 60 hp, but sales were still poor. It was discontinued in 1984.

In 2001 Honda resurrected the Silver Wing name, this time in the form of a 582 cc maxi-scooter. Based on the smaller displacement Honda Reflex. It is one of the most powerful scooters on the market, featuring a CVT transmission, and is quite popular for longer distance touring.
