Home of the Blues

"Home of the Blues" is a Johnny Cash song about his unhappy childhood. It was recorded over a year after "I Walk the Line" on July 1, 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee. The song was written by Johnny Cash, and Dougas L. McAlphin and, like much of Cash's output, was produced by Jack Clement, who was later credited with writing "Cocaine Blues", which Johnny Cash played at Folsom Prison, a performance that was recorded live.
"Home of the Blues" was redone by Joaquin Phoenix as a part of the 2005 film, Walk the Line.
