Homa Arjomand

Homa Arjomand (born 1952) is an Iranian communist political activist, a current member of Central Committee of Worker-Communist Party of Iran, and the co-coordinator of international campaign against the sharia courts in Canada.

The campaign against sharia laws came victorious in 2005, and was the reason that Islamic courts (and later other religious courts) were suspended in Ontario. After the victory, Arjomad became well-known especially in Eastern Canada and Ontario media. She also received the award of “Humanist of the Year” from the Humanist Association of Canada.

She is also an activist for children's rights, and the current secretary of Children first now. Homa Arjomand currently lives and works in Eastern Canada.
