Holy Trinity Church of Georgetown

Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Washington, D.C. was established in 1794. Currently situated at 3513 N Street NW, it is the oldest church in continuous operation in the nation's capital.

Holy Trinity founded in by Archbishop John Carroll, the first Catholic bishop in America and a cousin of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. There is a statue of Archbishop Carroll at the entrance of Georgetown University, which he founded in 1789.

The present building was built in 1851.

President John F. Kennedy and his family frequently worshiped at Holy Trinity.
