Holy Mother (Japanese: 「聖母」 - Seibo) is episode 41 of the Fullmetal Alchemist TV series originally aired 2004-07-24.
In flashback, just before the Führer kills her, we see Marta successfully inform Alphonse that the military is planning to turn Lior into another Ishbal and that the Führer is a homunculus (Pride). Scar and Rosé, the Holy Mother, instruct the citizens of Lior to draw the military into the town, but not to provoke violence. Ed, who is being held by Scar, asks Lyra to send a message to Mustang, warning the military to stay away or risk becoming components in Scar's Philosopher's Stone. Mustang asks Al to join Ed in Lior, and Lt. Hawkeye gives Al Ed's watch. Kimbley and a group of Shou Tucker's chimeras begin attacking Lior, trying to provoke a response. Scar orders Ed, Lyra and Rosé to lead the citizens out of Lior, but the exodus is interrupted by Sloth and Wrath. Pride relays the homunculi master's orders to Lust to stay out of Lior, but she disobeys. Al stumbles into a battle between Scar and Kimbley. Al pleads with Scar to leave Lior, distracting him, and Kimbley destroys Scar's left arm. Scar blasts Kimbley in the chest with his right arm, but a dying Kimbley transmutes Al's armor into an explosive. Sloth reveals herself to Ed, asking her "son" why he didn't bring her back to life, and Ed screams in horror. Wrath, enraged by Rosé's crying baby, launches himself at Rosé to silence the baby once and for all. Rosé manages to cry for help, which brings Ed back to reality. Ed leaps after Wrath, hoping to stop him before he can get to Rosé...
