[edit] Broadway

Holly was a child actor at an early age on Broadway, with leading roles. She worked with Irving Berlin, Richard Rogers, Leonard Bernstein and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Besides her work with Steinman, she has recorded backing vocals for Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel, Kenny Loggins, Barry Manilow, as well as performing with Joe Cocker and Arlo Guthrie.

[edit] Godspell

In 1972, she sang the song Day By Day from the Rock opera musical Godspell on Broadway. Her version rose to position 29 on the UK and Billboard charts.

In the 1970s, she performed a duet with Leonard Coleman Boone called "There's No Me Without You".

[edit] Jim Steinman

In 1983, she performed backup vocals for Bonnie Tyler on the Jim Steinman produced album Faster Than the Speed of Night. She also provided the background vocals for other songs on the album, including the smash hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart". Rory Dodd also of Fire Inc. sang the identifiable "Turn Around" part on that song. Holly Sherwood also performed the vocal wail at the end of the title song, which is a true testament of her vocal capacity.

[edit] Fire Inc.

She sang with Bat Out of Hell veteran Rory Dodd in the fake band Fire Inc. that was put together by Jim Steinman for two songs in the "Rock & Roll Fable" movie Streets of Fire. Her performance for the two songs "Nowhere Fast" and "Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young" were dubbed in the movie by Diane Lane.

These two songs are considered among the best works of composer Jim Steinman. Fire Inc. although not an actual band still enjoys a small cult following to this day.

[edit] Pandora's Box

Sherwood was the lead singer on the track "Good Girls Go To Heaven (Bad Girls Go Everywhere)" that was released on the album Original Sin by Pandora's Box, a group formed by Steinman in 1989.

In recent years, Holly owns an art gallery called Sherwood Gallery in Bernalillo, New Mexico, where she among other things sells jewelry with prices ranging from $10 to $10,000.
