Holenarsipura or Holenarispur (as it is sometimes referred to in everyday speech) is a town in Hassan district of Karnataka, India situated on the banks of the Hemavathi River, one of the many tributaries of the Cauvery river. It is one of the taluk headquarters in Hassan district. A quintessential town of rural Karnataka, it is naturally the main focal point for the surrounding agriculture industry.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Holenarsipura had a population of 27,018. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Chintamani has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 78% and female literacy of 68%. 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

- Gorur Dam a nearby dam constructed on the Hemavathi River, also has well-maintained grounds for picinicing, it is possbile to climb alongside the dam wall to the top for a view of the reservoir created by it.
- Shravanabelagola the most important Jain pilgrimage site located 29kms away. The main attarction being the gomateshwara statue of Lord Bahubali.

Holenarsipura is on a state highway between Mysore and Hassan. Holenarsipura is connected to the rest of Karnataka and India by broad gauge railway.
