Holding tank

A holding tank is the container that holds toilet waste on live-aboard vehicles such as recreational vehicles (RVs), trains, boats and even spacecraft.

RV holding tanks store toilet waste for later release into campground dump stations and other sani-dump dump stations. The material ends up in either a municipal sewage system or, since most campgrounds are in mor remote areas, a (hopefully) functional septic tank system.
